Apparent Temperature

Wind Chill and NOAA Heat Index real-feel apparent temperature calculator.

How It Works

• Wind Chill: Applies below 50°F (10°C) with active wind to calculate evaporative cooling on skin.

• Heat Index: Applies above 80°F (27°C) with relative humidity to evaluate heat stress.

Apparent Temperature Nedir ve How Apparent Temperature Is Calculated

Apparent real-feel temperature quantifies how the human body experiences ambient conditions rather than what a bare thermometer shows. Wind speed and relative humidity are the two primary modifiers.

The Wind Chill Index was developed jointly by the US National Weather Service (NWS) and Environment Canada. Active below 50°F (10°C) with winds above 3 mph (4.8 km/h), it models the rate of radiant and convective heat loss from exposed skin.

The NOAA Heat Index applies to hot weather above 80°F (27°C). Elevated humidity hinders natural perspiration evaporation, impairing thermoregulation and elevating heat exhaustion hazards.

This calculator automatically applies the correct physical equation for ambient temperature, providing dependable guidance for daily apparel, athletics, and workplace safety.
